• Extended registration certificate (Meldebescheinigung) from the local registration office, including marital status – not older than 4 months

• Final and, if applicable, certified divorce decree

• Death certificate (if applicable and possibly certified)

• Birth certificate(s) of the child or children (if applicable)

• A signed declaration in accordance with Section 11b of the Danish Marriage Act is required if one of the partners lives in Denmark or is a Danish citizen

• Possible document translations and/or legalizations

• Application form for marriage

• Signed letter of authorization (power of attorney)

• Valid passport

• Schengen visa or residence permit

• Provisional residence certificate (Fiktionsbescheinigung) or the pink residence card

• Birth certificate(s) – may be required depending on the registry office

• Certificate of single status, possibly with legalization or apostille

• Recent proof of address including marital status, with apostille or legalization – must be issued within the last 4 months

• Divorce papers (if applicable)

• Certificate of death (if applicable)
